Violent Dreams

Dan, Jodi and I went to a restaurant called "The Grape" last night near Lennox Mall. It was fun, though Jodi left early. After that, Dan and I headed to his place where we played Taboo with my brother and his friend, Ryan until 3 AM. This is probably the latest I've been up since I was 21. Craziness. It was a fun night.
The only piece that wasn't that great, was having to drive home. I hate getting lost and I hate driving in unfamiliar areas. It really makes me nervous. And being that Atlanta isn't that safest place and drivers suck, well, it doesn't really help a lost driver.

That's all done and over with and I'm left feeling sleepy and yucky. I need another 7 hours of sleep to feel refreshed!

Oh, and on Saturday during the day I went shopping with my dad. He's one of the funniest people to shop with. Sometimes he doesn't care what he buys, just as long as it is on sale.

Right now my mom is in Toronto enjoying herself. I'm super jealous!

Seeing Blue

My wonderful and amazing fiance, Myke, sent me a beautiful gift--a dozen Blue Roses!
He made my day, week and month!
No one has ever sent me a package I didn't know about it. I feel special and loved.

So, I've changed the color of my bridesmaids dresses to black. Finding matching blue dresses (or even dresses that look good next to one another) is a hard and stressful task.
I feel really bad that my cousin Rachel bought a blue/green dress. I told her she can defin. still wear it though. It's dark enough to match with the black dresses.
Now I'm confused on what color flowers I should get. Any ideas?
Oh the stresses of being a bride (it's exciting too though).

I had a nice lunch with my friend, Amy today. We went to Jason's Deli and bitched about the people we are annoyed with at work. I always love bitchsessions.

"That's with two n's"

I love creative spellings of somewhat mundane names. For example, my friend Jenn spells her name with two n's instead of one and Myke spells his name with a 'y' instead of an 'i'. These unique spellings bring more character to these people (or so I believe). Maybe my name should've been spelt 'Darragh' (kidding). Actually, when I was first born, my parents were thinking about naming me 'Fraddel'. I'm so glad they went with Dara!

This evening I had a nice conversation with Jenn and Myke (both separate from one another). Jenn is so sweet and a great listener (see, I am mentioning you on my blog!). And Myke, of course, makes me feel wonderful and loved.
It is hard communicating to all my friends and family only through phone and email. There's so much to say about meeting in person. I do miss that!

I think my dog is far-sighted. He's been walking into walls lately. Poor Madison.

A Rough Patch

The weather this week has been rainy and yucky.
I think it reflects how I've been feeling this past week. I've had bad day after bad day. Hopefully, there is a good day coming up.

My parents and I went to look at the invitations I want. I really like them. They aren't that expensive either which is a good thing. I have to order them before the end of this month cause they are only on sale until then. 40% off, baby!

My dad has been finding flight deals for Myke's sister and her family. I just hope they book the flights and come. I so badly want them to attend the wedding.
I would feel horrible if no one from Myke's side came (why do I feel like I'm repeating myself?).

I got my hair highlighted today and it looks cute. Very cute!

I'm missing "the office" tomorrow because of play rehearsal. I miss that show.
I miss my L Nose too.

Get into my car...

I thought today was going to be the day I take my driving exam, but unfortunately the DMV center is closed for MLK day.
I did spend the morning/early afternoon practicing parallel parking with my dad. He yelled at me the whole time and I didn't walk away from it feeling confident. I'll try again tomorrow.

Tonight I'm going to see a movie with Aaron. I have been wanting to see Harry Potter for months now!

Tomorrow I'm getting a massage. Oh, how I need a massage every weekend. I wish I was rich!

I had a funny play rehearsal the other night. The director was screaming "It's TIT not TEET" at one of the narrators. Very funny since he is an older man with a southern accent.

Guess what? I'm going to Toronto April 7-9th. I haven't decided where I'm going to stay, but I'm excited to see friends and family.

Oh my goodness!

Today I received great feedback from my manager. He likes the way I'm working and wants to put me in charge of new projects.
Also, I'm becoming more comfortable with my co-workers. This is such a good thing. I'm set to go to a spa with one of my co-workers, Amy, on Sunday. Here I come Massage!!

My rehearsal last night was funny. There is this one lady who looks like Susan Sarandon and she's such a pain. My dad and I both dislike her very much! She's very anal, bossy and just plain annoying. Hopefully, I won't have that many interactions with her. Because I'm barely in the play, I haven't gotten a chance to get to know any of the other cast members (besides my dad of course). They seem nice, but they are so much older than I am. Oh well. At least the play fills up my time so I'm not over analyzing my life.

I'm looking at wedding invitations tonight. I'm looking to order them by the end of this month. The more things I can complete this month, the better I'll be. I'm only saying this cause every Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting February 1st, I'll be doing the play.

Message to Aaron: Cheer up!

Love, actually

When I first saw the movie "love actually" I was in awe. I loved how all the stories were intertwined and all characters knew one another. I also love British accents (thanks to my grandfather). As soon as the movie was over, I wanted to rush to the nearest HMV and buy the CD, but, alas, that never happened...until now! I finally made it to the local music store and picked up a copy of the "love actually" soundtrack. Oh how I love the music! It's funny how music can make you tear up. I love that about music and movies.

Today was crazy busy :)
Of course, only Myke knows the details of my day.
And we'll keep it at that.

I think I found centerpieces for the tables at my wedding. I'm going to show them to my mom tonight and see if she likes them.

Nowhere Man

I'm sick of being sick!
What I would give to be able to breath through my nose. It's funny how we take advantage of little things like that, huh?
Hopefully, this cold is leaving me though. I can't imagine having it for another week.

I've done absolutely nothing this weekend! I haven't gone out once. I need more movies to watch since I'm bored out of my mind. I might make a stop to Blockbuster later today if I feel up to it. We'll see.

Milky Skin

Yesterday while eating lunch with a co-worker, I was hit on by the waiter. He approached me and said "I noticed you have milky white skin. What ethnicity are you? Polish? Wow, your skin is beautiful. Is Mr. Golden polish?" How random is that? I always have the most random things happen in my life (i.e. rednecks shooting guns into a pool).

My brother just shared with me that he feels he is going "in a different direction" than the family. Well, duh? He's 22 yrs. old. I wouldn't expect him to be living his life like our parents or even me for that matter. He is in University and having fun. Sometimes he says the craziest things (though I get a good laugh out of it).

I am working from home today because I feel like poo. I always feel more comfortable working when I'm in my PJ's.

My life is chaotic right now.

I think I might have a cavity, but I can't really find out until I have coverage in February. Crap!

The Trouble With Love

Sometimes a person has to jump through 200 hoops in order to have happiness. And sometimes a person gets handed great things on a platter. In my life, I've had obstacles and happy times and I'm a stronger person for going through both. I truly believe that we have bad things happen in our lives to make us realize the good things. That said, I wish I had better luck these days.

Anyways, I'm getting a cold. My nose is stuffed up and my head hurts. I took medicine. I hate having a cold. I hate being cold too. Oddly enough when I lived in TO, I was cold most of the time but never got colds (ok, maybe a few...). Georgia weather sucks in the winter time. One day it's warm the next it's freezing. No wonder I have a cold. No wonder everyone is sick right now. Damn Mother Nature (kidding).

UPDATE: Rose and Naomi just booked their tickets. They are coming from March 10-14th. How exciting! Yeah!

2 hour lunches

I love my workplace. I can take a 2 hour lunch and no one even flinches. How is it possible that people finish anything? Maybe people better prioritize their time when they have more flexibility. Hmm, what a thought.

I decided to invite one of my co-workers to my engagement party. What the hell!
Blame it on my sensitive, sweet side.

I have another play rehearsal tomorrow night. I have the majority of my lines memorized, however I only have 10 lines so that's kinda sad. My dad is still struggling with his lines (he has around 1000 lines). He's getting better at his southern accent though. I guess now he has a total of 2 accents: yelling (i.e BULLY) and pseudo-southern. Go Dad!

Myke is meeting with our lawyer tomorrow (well, soon to be our lawyer). I can't wait to hear the specifics.

Southern word of the day: Funning or Funnin'

Oh, you silly rednecks...

A Redneck New Year!

At the last minute, my friend Josh decided he wanted to go to Athens instead of Helen. Although I was a bit disappointed, I went with him and his two tour-mates. We went to two house parties, a couple of bars and a hotel. I must say that I met the most interesting characters along the way. For example, one guy was campaigning for Athens Mayor and his campaign slogan was "I'm not afraid to get into a scrap." Another group of guys were shooting blanks into a pool in front of the hotel.
Obviously there isn't much to do in Athens if you aren't in University. When we went to the bars it was packed with Frat boys and annoying GA girls. I was hit on numerous times (which was flattering) but eventually it got annoying. I started flashing my engagement ring, but I think these people were too drunk to notice. Josh protected me from the weirdos though.

All in all, it was a redneck New Year.

Next New Years will be better since I'll be with Myke!
