The neighbor story:

Yesterday, Myke and I overheard our neighbors fighting. At first we just assumed it was a little bickering, but it soon turned into doors slamming and yelling. Of course, we could hear everything as our windows were open and they were out on their balcony. The girlfriend seemed terribly upset (i.e. crying and weasing) and the boyfriend didn't seem to care (although he seemed kind of drunk). Anyways, the girlfriend kept on screaming "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" Clearly something happen to cause this (and we'll never know...). But what we do know is that they are broken up and the boyfriend will no longer be living here. Thank God! He was so loud and annoying!

Seasons of Love

I just came back from the musical performance, RENT. It was great (as always!). I especially liked Collins, Marc and Mimi (these are characters in the play). I can't believe I've seen this play 3 times!! That's dedication, my friend.

The rest of the week will be spent taking it easy and packing. Only a week and a bit until we move...sooooooooo excited!

Myke just asked me what I'd do with millions and I said "get a British accent." I'm so clever!

And now we know...

Distance causes distance.

When I was 9 and a half, my parents decided to move the family to GA. Stupidly, I thought that I could keep in touch with my whole 4th grade class. I sent them holiday cards as well as letters, but I received very few back. Eventually, I lost contact with all of them all together. I know I'm older and have stronger relationships with people now, but I still feel the distance everyday. I forget what friends/family look like. Pictures just don't capture people in full. All this to say, that I'm not liking the distance right now. I miss being in my comfort zone. I miss being around people that actually enjoy spending time with me. I miss going to "loud" movies with my Nana M. I miss going to Red Lobster with my grandparents. I miss eating Japanese with Derek. I miss having "bitch sessions" with Hewitt people (though I don't miss the actual job). I miss trying on random dresses and walking around TO with Rose and Naomi. I miss walking across the apartment complex and hanging out with Tom and Ang.

And now you know how I feel...

Twas a good weekend!

I wrote a whole blog entry, but then my computer ate it :(
Damn!

Anyways, I had a great weekend and saw some celebs (see Myke's blog for more details). I also saw "Blades of Glory" with Cherie and Larry (It was very funny, by the way) and went out to dinner with Laird and Harrison (these events were not on the same day).

I am waiting for my new glasses to arrive. I'm excited!

Oh, and I really really really hate Mondays!

Where is Dara?

It's sad when no one realizes when you are/aren't at a meeting. I thought I made quite impression on my new team, but apparently they don't seem to notice me. Sad, really! I blame this all on cyberspace and different timezones. Hopefully, I can clear all this up tomorrow :)

It's less than a month until we move and I'm so excited! I'll have to have everyone over after May 13th.

My cat was being extra annoying this morning. I locked her out of the bedroom twice!

What's my age again?

When people meet me outside of work they assume I'm 17-18 years old. When people meet me at work they assume I'm 30. Why the big difference? I'm confused!!
I just think it's funny that people never assume I'm in my twenties :)

Anyways...yesterday, Myke and I had a relaxing Saturday. I finally purchased a dress for my friend's wedding and we did some needed errands (although apparently not enough). We signed our lease papers (yeah!) too. I can't wait to move in. It's defin. something fun to look forward to. I'm also excited because May means a trip to San Fran/Napa Valley, a 1 year anniversary, and Myke's birthday. May should be a great month!!

Oh and June will be great too!

Today was a good day! I got manicures with the Hampton girls (including Sandra) and then went out with Christian and Myke to find Christian's bday present. At night we headed to a steak restaurant with Cherie, Larry, Sandra, and Evert. I had yummy risotto saffron. Sooo good!!

When stupid things happen to good people...

I found out this week that the apartment I was so looking forward to moving into wasn't going to be available when I needed it. That meant lots of stress for Myke and myself. We found a place though and are in the process of getting it (we have now passed the pre-approval stage and are waiting for the final word). I will keep everyone updated!

Myke's parents are in town and so far it's been fun. Tonight we went out with Myke's family (minus Larry). We showed them our new (well, hopefully new) place as well as our current place (so they could meet our cat). Tomorrow we are taking the parents to Laguna Beach for breakfast. I really do like Laguna Beach. It's pretty and funky (though a bit snobby).
