"You look schleppy"

Note to whomever reads my blog: Don't rent Shopgirl!
I really like Steve Martin, but he was lacking character in this film. Oh and Claire Danes really annoys me!

Yesterday, my mom and I got a massage. It was quite enjoyable.
If I was rich I'd get a massage every week.

The funniest argument in history just happened. It involved who looked more "schleppy."

Only two more weeks until Hawaii!!

Independence = Power

I really don't enjoy depending on others. I mean, it's great to have a support network, but I don't like leaning on people for money, food, etc...
Now that I'm moving to a new place, I find myself consistenly leaning/depending on others. I try to do as much as I can by myself, but I always end up having to get help. I just hate feeling powerless. I know eventually it will work out, but for now I'm left worrying about everything. Moves shouldn't be this stressful!

I went for my final dress fitting tonight. It looks great. I'm very happy with everything. I'm so thankful I got a corset dress because I don't think my dress would fit otherwise (I lost some weight). I'm so excited to wear it soon. Only 3 more weeks.

I have two more weeks left of work. Craziness!

Famous People

Isn't California suppose to be sunny all the time? Well, whoever said that lied. :)

This trip has brought insight into my life. I realize now how similar Orange County is to Marietta, GA and even Oakville (in Canada). Although they have different climates they all seem to have rain (i.e. glumy/depressing days). Just because I've been going through a rough patch doesn't mean that my life is horrible. California isn't the worst place to be.

So far I've seen Jerry O'Connell's brother, Pink and Corey Hart (Pink's husband). I get very excited when I see famous people. Venice beach is beautiful and fun! I hope to go there more in the near future. This evening I got to explore parts of OC with Sara and Gianfranco. Though I barely ate anything, I got a feel for where I'll be living. It's not so bad. Myke and I also went to some funky restaurant in LA with Malinda on Friday night. This restaurant had a giant rideable bull in the center and a giant fire in the back to make smores (aka schmores).

Counting all my ducks...

I'm going to California tomorrow!!! I get to see Myke!! I also get to go to the beach, LA, and cool new restaurants. It does suck that I'll be running around doing job interviews and looking for apartments, but at least I'll have some stuff to look forward to.
I've also heard the weather there is beautiful--not too hot, not to humid. My perfect climate is when I can wear a tank top and jeans.
I'm glad I'm going this weekend because I heard that Georgia is getting lots of storms.
And as you can see from my previous posts, when it rains in Georgia, it pours.

Enough about weather...I'm planning a Mother's Day/Bday surprise for my mom on the 29th of this month. She has no clue what I'm doing either. I am positive she'll love it.

Here's to surprises!!!

Shut 'er down!

I finally got my license!! I am the smartest person in the world. Yippeee!!!

I also just finished watching "Narnia" with my brother. It was a spooky film. Honestly, I thought it was kind of scary how close the children were with one another, a lion and a weird fawn (i.e. half man, half horse). Yuck!

"Have you lost weight?"

I just weighed myself and I've lost about 5 lbs. Honestly, if it weren't for people constantly approaching me and mentioning my weight loss I would never know (unless of course I weighed myself..hehe). And why have I been losing weight? Well, I've been a stressbag these days. I stress about everything from getting a license to finding an apartment in California. As I've learned in the past, people deal with stress differently. I get really anxious and don't eat, while others eat too much and are super depressed (although I guess one could argue that being anxious is in the same category as depression). Anyways, I'm sure everything will be better eventually. It's just the waiting that kills me/makes me sick to my stomach.

Work news: I might have found my replacement. It's my brother's roomate's sister. She's great and would be an awesome fit. We'll see what happens though.

I'm taking it easy tonight.

T Dot

Why does it have to end?
What I would give to be living here again. I mean, I'm excited to move to California, but there is something about Toronto that gets my blood pumping. I just feel at home here.

Last night I went to The Keg with Tom and Ang and others (Jenn, Barry, Melesha, Melissa, Zok, Ant and hubby, Rose, Naomi, Adam, Matt and girlfriend). I got my spinach and crab dip and I had fun reminiscing about old times. Afterwards we went to my fave crepe place on Queen West. They have amazing crepes.

This morning was spent watching "Undeclared" with Tom and Ang and then brunch with the family. It was nice but quick. Right now I'm at my Uncle Phil's place. They are driving me to the airport in an hour or so.

Everyone missed you, Myke.

Reservations 101

I called The Keg to make a reservation for 12 people on Saturday night, but they told me this was not possible and that I need to come an hour or so before to get tables. Well, of course that answer was not ideal, so I wrote them a nice, long email. About 1 hour later I received a call from the manager saying that they would be happy to make an exception and make a reservation for me and my 12 guests. Hell Yea!! And that's what I'm talkin' about...(snap!)

Only a little bit longer until I'm in Toronto. I'm not excited about the cold weather, but I am excited to see my friends and family. It's been awhile.
I still don't have a ride back to the airport but that's ok. I can always take a bus or a limo (of course that's pricey).

Myke is apartment hunting for us in the OC right now. It's not looking that great. A lot of apartment buildings post ads even if they don't have availability. That seems so odd to me. Also, rent is so damn expensive! I honestly don't feel that a one bedroom is worth $1300 (am I alone here?).

Random Moment: The other day I was driving to work and the sky turned black and it starting hailing/raining really hard. I was a bit nervous but decided to keep on driving until I started hearing tornado sirens. Needless to say, I turned my car around and went back home. I waited for about 20 minutes (until the rain stopped) and drove to work. Georgia weather is sure funny!
