With Canada day on the horizon I thought I'd write a list of things I love about Canada.

2. The cities: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, etc...
3. The 4 Seasons
4. The TTC
5. The restaurants: Licks, Swiss Chalet, The Keg, Harveys, and Milestones/Moxies
6. Free healthcare
7. Inexpensive apartments
8. The festivals and concerts
9. The cultural experience (many different types of people)
10. Our flag!

My original response didn't go through. To paraphrase:
You never know what the future may bring. Papa Johnny was in the Royal Air Force (RAF) from ages 17 to 23. At age 25, he came to Canada to visit an aunt and uncle, whose older daughter was a War Bride, having married a Canadian serviceman in England. The aunt and uncle (she was his mother's sister) emigrated to Canada and came to Windsor, where their daughter and son-in-law were living. After 2 years, Papa wrote his grandmother and asked her to look for a new bedroom suite, as he planned to return. Shortly after that, he wrote her again, and told her he had met a young lady (me) and was planning to get married, and remain in Canada.
From your list, Canada is high on your priorities. One never knows what will happen in future, and where you will relocate, or for what reasons. Your options are always open. And Canada is a great country in which to live. And Toronto is a great city.
Many years ago, Papa and I had the choice to relocate to the States, and after much consideratiion, Papa decided to stay in Canada. I used to tease your mother and ask her what would have happened if we had not moved to Toronto, and she would not have met your father. Her answer was she probably would have ended up with some "schtunk" from Detroit.
    Love
    Nana

I didn't know that Papa and yourself had the opportunity to move to the States. Very interesting.

Right now, I'm wanting to move back so badly. Orange County is a giant suburb with not so friendly people. I'm trying to get out there and meet people, but the people I'm meeting are not the type of people I'd hang out with.

That said, if I feel this way after a year, then that is a sign to move back to TO. I know it wasn't a perfect place, but it was the only place I ever considered to be my true home.

    Thanks for posting Nana!
