Delayed

My plane took off later than expected due to a medical emergency. This caused us to be an hour late. I ended up running to my connecting flight (I've never had to do that before). Luckily, they waited for me. Of course, that meant that my luggage had no chance. I filed a claim and then at 1am in the morning my luggage was delivered (at least it was delivered, right?).

I was suppose to go to the beach today, but I'm honestly exhausted. I have to get some rest as I will be starting a new job tomorrow.

Need sleep...

Several years ago, Papa and I flew to Philadelphia with the Laurence Hart family to attend Jillians' Bat Mitzvah. From the airport, we got into the rental car that had been arranged for us, and that was a hassle, as at first they insisted the size car we had requested was not available. We had a wonderful time that weekend----your Mom and Dad were there as well. The only ones in the family that could not come were Uncle David and Aunt Galia, as her father was very ill then.
On the return, the clerk at the Philadelphia airport gave Uncle Laurence a hard time, as Air Canada had printed out all our names on one ticket, under:
    HART Laurence
    Shira
    John
    Lillian
    Eric
    Rachel
Precious time was being lost, as an argument ensued. Finally, Uncle Laurence insisted on speaking to a supervisor, who assured the clerk that everything was in order. So we sat and waited for our flight. Then we noticed that other seats were not being used, and this was a popular flight. So we got up to see what was going on. Our flight was cancelled, and we had to rush to another part of the terminal, with our luggage, to catch a different Airline altogether.
I do remember that Uncle Philip and Aunt Ruth and their family had chosen to drive. Going was not bad; coming back there was a late winter storm, with lots of snow, and it took them hours to get back. But, being in Philadelphia, they did get a chance to sight see, and visit the Liberty Bell, among other highlights.
That's the main reason Seniors do not enjoy travel. The problems in the terminals---the long walks---dragging your luggage---it's not fun.
Hope your new job goes well.
    Love
    Nana Lill and Papa
