A lot from a little

And this is what you've been up to?

Lately, my time has been spent on the couch or talking to Myke about "what ifs."  I've had a couple of interviews, visited Alabama/Georgia, attended TIFF and contracted the possible swine flu.  Though life has been interesting I find myself a bit down.  I am still unemployed and I still am struggling to remain positive on life (note: my mood has a lot to do with being unemployed).

    Darling Dara:
Years ago I worked at the T. Eaton Co., in the Collection Dept, downtown at 390 Bay St, before the Eaton Centre was built. Changes were coming, and when they did, I was one of those to lose my job, as I did not have "Seniority". Just as my severance pay was ending, I was hired at Grolier Ltd. Not that I was making big money, having come back into the work force at an older age, and I took a sizable cut in earnings. However, in the long run, it was a good move. Eventually, I retired from Grolier, have a small pension from that company----Eaton's went bankrupt; Grolier is rarely heard from, and during my employment, was sold to a French company who are the publishers of the ELLE magazine, among many others. So you pick up your head, throw back your shoulders, and go on.
Actually, Eaton's had offered me various other positions, but none of them were to my liking.
There were not a lot of jobs out there when I left Eaton's, and age was against me---I was 49 when I started at Grolier Ltd., and it was because of a scandal in the collection dept. where a woman was embezzling from the company.
    Don't get downhearted.
    Love,
    NANA
PS How do you know it was the H1N1, known as Swine Flu. Were you tested? From my readings, this flu attacks the lungs, and is long lasting.
