So, this is Christmas
Christmas in California:
-Woke up super early and decided Schmaty needed to open her Christmas present (really code for "I want to open MY presents").
-Decided Myke knows me super well (he picked out great presents for me).
-Visited Myke's family in Yorba Linda. They were very generous with food and presents! Sweet bunch!
-Ate dinner at Kikos (I think that was the name) and had a yummy Tepan dinner.
-Watched "Love Actually" for a bit.

Glad you've enjoyed a great holiday with your families----the Goldens in Palm Springs, and the ones in the southern climes of CA.
We had most of the family over for dinner on Dec 24, as the Philip Hart family were leaving for Florida on Monday, Xmas Day, except for Adam, who decided he wanted his own space. And after a scary time of Summer and Ciera becoming ill on the weekend with a virulent form of stomach flu, the David Hart family were able to fly off this morning to Marietta. Uncle David brought Jada over yesterday afternoon so he could borrow a suitcase. The little one told me she was going to pet Madison. So I showed her an old photo on my fridge, with Papa standing in the kitchen in Marietta with Madison. She was so excited. And then I showed her my copy of the portrait of Madison that's hanging on a wall in our den.

And just remember to hug each other, and tell each other how much you love each other. Up here, there has been a terrible tragedy. On Friday, Eric drove home from Kingston, and dropped off a female friend at her home in Pickering (she's an engineering student, also). Later, on Friday, the friend, her mother, her father, her sister and brother loaded up in their minivan, and took off for Florida to spend Xmas with relatives, and then go on a Carribean cruise. In Philadelphia, the father was passing a truck, when they were hit by a drunken young man in a truck driving the wrong way. The father, the younger sister and the brother were all killed. The mother and Eric's friend are now back in Pickering. The young man is in jail. The mother says she forgives him, but he should never be allowed to drive again.
Otherwise, we're all OK. We miss you. Hope it won't take too long for Myke's working permit to come through.

That's so horrible about Eric's friend and her family! I'm not sure you re-read the comments section, nana, but was Eric close with her family?
